• SUBMISSION ENTRY OPENS: November 1, 2024

• DROP-OFF DATES:  Monday, March 17  - Friday March 21, 2025  -  11 am to 5 pm 
• OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, March 29th, 1 to 3 pm
• PICK-UP DATES of unsold artwork:  Monday, May 12 - Friday, May 16, 2025

ENTRY FEES:  

Artists may enter up to 3 pieces:
       - $20 first entry 
       - $10 each for 2nd and 3rd entry

Wisconsin residency and WVA membership is required to enter this show.

JURY

This is a juried exhibition.

The Exhibition Team reserves the right to refuse a piece that is not properly entered or deemed inappropriate for public display.

AWARDS

Awards will be made for first place ($1,000), second place ($500) and third place ($250). Awardees will be chosen by the exhibition jurors. 

ARTWORK GUIDELINES:

• Must be original work; no reproductions of artwork will be accepted.
• Works must be created within the past two (2) years (January 2023 and after).
• Works must be free of copyright infringement. 
• 2D work must be wired for hanging. No sawtooth hangers are allowed.
• Labels with artist name and artwork title must be attached to artwork upon delivery.
• Instructions for any works needing special assembly or equipment should be noted on the entry.

ARTWORK SUBMISSION:

•  Image Size:
  • Minimum 1800 pixels on the longest side (this is equivalent to 6 inches at 300 ppi/dpi).
  • Minimum file size is 1MB (1000kB); maximum file size is 5MB.
• For 2D artwork, three (3) images may be uploaded. The first image must be of the artwork without frame or mat.  Second and third images may be of detail, with frame, and/or setting for scale.
  • Documentation imagery with blur or reflection will not be accepted.
•  For 3D artwork, three (3) images or video will be accepted.
•  For Video submissions, mov or mp4 files, or a pdf with a link to the video may be uploaded.
•  File Naming:
  •  Image files MUST use the following naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_Title  For example, John Smith’s artwork titled “My Painting” will be named SmithJ_MyPainting.jpg. Do not include quotation marks.
  • For second and third images, name the file as above and append an underscore and number to the file name. For example: SmithJ_MySculpture_1, SmithJ_MySculpture_2, SmithJMySculpture_3.
  •  Do not use spaces or special characters other than an underscore between your name and title. If the artwork title or artist’s name has special characters, leave them out. Upper/Lower case does not matter.
• Format:
  •  Acceptable formats for images are jpg, jpeg, or png.
  • Video format (whether for 3D or Video submissions) may be mov or mp4 

DELIVERY

Delivery to Thelma will be Monday, March 17 - Friday March 21, 2025. Detailed delivery instructions, including shipment, will be provided to accepted artists. The Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts will require a signed gallery agreement form.

IMAGE USE

By entering work in this exhibition, the artist gives WVA and Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts the right to use images for digital and print promotional purposes. Artists will be credited for image use.

SALES

Work may or may not be for sale to be eligible for the exhibition. WVA and Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts will make every effort to encourage the sale of work available for purchase. In the event of a sale, Thelma will retain a 35% commission. 

Payment arrangements are defined in the Thelma gallery agreement. Artwork must remain on site until the final date of the exhibition. 

COMMITMENT TO EXHIBIT

By accepting entry into the WVA Perspectives 2025 show, artists commit to exhibit their work for the duration of the exhibit. Any alteration of the artwork causing substantial deviance from the entered image may disqualify the artwork from the exhibit at the sole discretion of the WVA Exhibition Team. 

Full delivery/shipping instructions will be emailed to the finalists upon acceptance. 

The Gallery agreement will need to be signed upon delivery of artwork, or mailed with artwork if being shipped.

LIABILITY 

Wisconsin Visual Artists is not liable for damage to artwork in transit or during the exhibit.  Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts is not liable for damage to artwork in transit. Appropriate insurance for the artwork is provided by the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts  while on the premises during the exhibit. 

TO ENTER

Submissions will be made through ArtCall. Visit our Statewide Calls link and follow the link to ArtCall to begin the submission process. New users will be required to create an ArtCall profile with user login and password. Existing ArtCall users need only login and follow the process for a new submission.

The preferred method of payment is through a credit card on the ArtCall site (using Stripe). Checks are accepted by using the Promo Code "Check". After you make the submission, mail your check to:

If a check is not received within 7 days of entry, the submissions will not be included in the jurying process.
